As Apple stores is still a dream in Indian consumers, now the company is planning to create its online own online stores in India. By using the fact that the local manufacturers can have a direct online presence in the country.

The launch of this online store will go live by selling its iPhone SE model, which will be produced in India, and latter it will be expanded by local production of all other formats under “Made In India” initiative.

An official who are familiar with this matter said that “Apple do not require any approval of Foreign direct investment (FDI) from the Indian government, as the government itself has allowed the direct sales of domestically produced online.”

The company may also sell some accessories that will be shipped from India. According to the reports, Approx 50 to 55 percent of the iPhone sold in India are sold Online as compared to the average value of the smartphone industry which is only 30 percent in total. Apple will not compete with the online eCommerce sites like Amazon, FlipKart and Snapdeal.

Instead of this “Apple is planning to be differentiate its online store in India, by offering the additional services such as laser engraving, for personalizing the phone, selling models or options that are exclusive and trending, such as dedicated models, color options or storage capacity, storage place” official added.

There will be the limit on Apple offline outlets, as the company is currently looking for 4-5 such outlets flagships is next 5 to 10 years (which is huge time). This is because the company thinks that such offline stores need more spaces to fit its machineries and other stuffs and are approaching the iconic places which are very few in numbers.

In an interview Official added “Apple offline stores will be initially be presented in the metro cities, where the for Apple is demand is high.”

Apple brick and mortar stores in India will be limited in number and the company is looking for 4-5 such flagship outlets over the next 5-10 years. This is due to the fact that such stores require huge space to fit their architectural design and are approaching iconic places that are very few. Apple offline stores will initially be presented in the metro.
