Finally, Google and Russian officials have came to an agreement to settle a two year old android antitrust case.
According to the Russian media, the agreement was voiced today by Deputy Head of the Federal Anti-monopoly Services of Russia, Alexy Dotsenko.
According to this agreement, Google will pay 439 million rubles ($7.8 million US dollars) as a fines and will not limit the pre-installation of any third-party apps in its android running mobile phone in Russia.
The case was transferred to the FAS in 2015 by Yandex, which is Russia’s dominant search index company and offers numerous of apps, including popular apps for booking Taxi’s. After this announcement the shares of Yandex rose by 6% on Moscow Stock Exchange.
