The online digital payment site Paytm, has today make a debut in Canadian payment business, with the launch of its  payment service in Canada.

In an statement Paytm said that “The customers in Canada will now able to pay their bills for cell phones, cables, internet,electricity and water. In addition to this, users will also be able to pay their insurance and property taxes through Paytm Canada app.”


Harinder Takhar, Chief Executive for Paytm laboratory said “We are pleased to announce that from starting today, the consumers in Canada can access the perfect experience of Paytm that is already well known in India.We hope that Canada will be very successful market for us.”

Toronto Mayor John Tori, who was present at Paytm headquarters in Noida, said the city is the home to the Paytm Labs team since 2014.


“Our easy-to-use billing subscription service would make payment process easier and more seamless than ever before, by allowing innovative entrepreneurs to offer innovative services at an aggressive prices.”

With the launch of Paytm in Canada, we look forward to the success of Paytm and are an integral part of its history of growth around the world,” Tori added.

Currently Paytm has close to 200 million wallet users and plans to enroll 1 crore offline merchants by December 2017.
