On Wednesday, Bharti Airtel introduced its new ‘Internet TV’ box at a price for Rs 4,999 with one month free subscription of all (SD and HD channels) for free.
The Internet TV is powered by Android TV, which will allows the consumers to view content on the Internet on their regular television apart from the regular satellite channels.
Bharti Airtel, CEO and Director for DTH, Sunil Taldar said that “Consumers need to look at Rs 10,000-15,000 above the normal TV, which is a big obstacle. Then there are streaming media devices. But the experience is not smooth. Airtel Internet TV will be at this seamless experience, growing offline and online content.”
The Internet TV, come with a built-in Wi-Fi receiver and a Bluetooth remote control, is integrated with Google Voice search feature, which allows customers to easily find their favorite content remotely, and choose from variety of content sources.
Providing a free and easy to use, sleek interface, the Airtel Internet TV is 4k ready and also allow the users to pause, record or even rewind the live shows. It also supports content via USB (external HD) and Bluetooth. With the help of Airtel’s Internet TV consumers can also send the mirror of the content from mobile phones, tablets and laptops on TV screen.
Gaming lovers can take a full advantage from the Internet TV with the best gaming app for a truly immersive experience. Players can use a physical game controller or even a smartphone as a game panel with Internet TV.
The price is Rs 4,999 for new STB connections, the set top box come with pre-loaded Netflix movie app – will provide support for casting a content from YouTube and it will also allow the users to download the apps from Google Play.
The new customers also have an option of purchasing the device for Rs 7,999 which will include with a subscription of 500 channels. But the existing customers can avail this service for Rs 3,999 including the one month subscription plan.
From 12 April the Airtel Internet TV box will be available on Amazon India, in 20 cities across India.
