High times for Uber, as it’s yet another top most executive steps down.
Now this time is Sherif Marakby, VP of global vehicle program for Uber, who played and an important role in company self driving program.
In an interview with TechCrunch, Uber spokesperson said that “Sherif’s has a deep experience and knowledge of automotive industry which has helped us enormously to work and make self-driving automobiles into reality.” n
It’s unclear why Sherif Marakby left Uber, but according to the “Automatic news” reports this is not related to the litigation with Waymo, nor it is unclear whether it is because of sexual harassment allegations which were recently made. Marakby joined Uber in April 2016 to head its self-driving projects.
In a statement, Marakby said that “A self-driving cars is one of the most interesting tasks, I’ve worked in my careers, and I’m so grateful for contributing to what will soon become a more secure future for everyone.”
