The cellular networking company Aircel is all set to layoff 700 employees that is almost 1% of its total staff in India, in its first stage of reduction of manpower. Currently Aircel has round 8,000 employees in India.
According to the Times of India which claims that “The first batch of employees has been given a week of time since last Friday in coordination with the compensation package from the company, that includes the salary for the month of February and the basic salary of next six months.
The sources claims that ” The complete process is to reduce the duplication of the Human resources with the possible tie-up with Reliance communication (RCom). Currently the Circle teams as well as the corporate base is now being resized with an aim to cut the cost of overall structure.
The Gurgaon based Headquarter for Aircel has first taken an action in its circle strength and then began to serve a termination letter to its sales and network team members across the country. “In the next seven to eight months, the company is planning to go slow in all segments as more stage of jobs cuts are on the cards,” sources added. By April the company will cuts more jobs.
