In an interview with CEO of Medium ‘EV Williams ‘ at Upfront summit, EV as announced that Medium will soon launch a consumer subscription service, with the first version coming this quarter. Which will help Medium to generate additional revenue apart form advertisement.
EV called it’s service “as an update to it’s Medium experience” and asked people to subscribe it’s service when it goes live. He also spoke about layoff as part of the way to subscriptions, since previously Medium focused on getting the big publishers to join their platform by publishing ads for their own properties.
