Canadian technology giant, BlackBerry Corp has revealed it’s new software platform which will help automakers to create a safe and secure connected vehicles.to parti
“QNX Hypervisor 2.0” is a name which has given to its new software platform, which relies on QNX SDP 7.0, BlackBerry’s secure 64-bit embedded OS which will allow developers to isolate the safety-critical environments from non-safety critical environment and to minimize the hacking risk.
BlackBerry QNX President Wall said, “If hackers can access an automobile via a non-critical ECU system, they can change critical areas such as the steering system, brakes, or the engine for safety, and the BlackBerry QNX Hypervisor 2.0 provides protection against such attacks.”
The BlackBerry’s “QNX Hypervisor 2.0” will creates virtual software containers; So that any distress or violation in the functional area of a single car can be isolated and will not create any weakening effect in other areas of the vehicle.
The company also announced that Qualcomm Technologies has used the “QNX Hypervisor 2.0” as part of a pilot digital control solutions.
The VP of product management for Automotive, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, Nakul Duggal said “QNX Hypervisor 2.0 will help the manufacturers to leverage the power of the platform’s auto Snapdragon.”
